Aldous vists Fen Park
On Friday 10th June, Fen Park Friends welcomed back local MP Peter Aldous to Fen Park in Kirkley South Lowestoft for a tour of the park.
Mr Aldous was very impressed and surprised at the regeneration of the pond area and nature walk.
Richard (Chair of the group ) said that the pond is now well stocked with a variety of fish and that it has attracted more wildlife too; and seems to be really appreciated by the general public. He went on to say that an awful lot has been achieved by our small voluntary group, what with gaining funding and working with Waveney District Council and Waveney Norse and other agencies to get where we are today. Like all the other parks we do suffer on occasion the odd spate of vandalism; but try always to stay positive.
Fishing has now started on the park after a two month closed season and seems to be going well; we hope to start fishing matches very soon, and if anyone is interested in perhaps joining a club or matches, to contact us via our website www.fenparkfriends.org.uk
