Following on from the Prime Minister's visit to Lowestoft last Friday, Secretary of State for Transport Patrick McLoughlin was back in town this morning to meet Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Waveney Peter Aldous to discuss the plans for the Third Crossing, which the Prime Minister announced a Conservative Government will ensure would be prepared by next March ahead of the 2016 Budget.

The Secretary of State was last in Lowestoft in March when he opened the final phase of the Northern Spine Road and took a boat trip on Lake Lothing. This time Peter Aldous showed him the preferred location for the bridge crossing to the west of ASDA.

Peter Aldous said:

“It was good to welcome the Secretary of State back to Lowestoft. The fact that this followed so soon after the Prime Minister's and his own previous visit demonstrates the Conservatives' commitment to improving road infrastructure in East Anglia and to meeting the challenge of building the Third Crossing.”
