Peter Aldous attended the first of a new monthly drop-in event at Lilac Lodge care home in Oulton Broad. The event is intended to support people living with dementia and their carers.

Peter said:

“I very much welcome this new initiative by Kingsley Healthcare at Lilac Lodge. It was good to see the event attended by people from local support groups and charities. It is important that different support groups in the town connect together to make the most of the help available."

One pensioner who attended highlighted the difficulty of coping with a partner living with dementia and only getting four hours of respite a week.

Praising the new drop-in, she said she would spread the word to other people in her position ahead of next month’s event.

The home’s new chef, Diana Homes, laid on a spread of cakes and scones.

The drop-in will take place at the Gorleston Road home on the last Friday of every month from 10.30am to noon.
