From my perspective it is very disappointing that the Euro elections are taking place next week and I am very much aware that the Conservative Party are likely to do very badly, reflecting people’s annoyance that Brexit has not taken place on time, with the UK failing to leave the European Union on 29 March.

I voted for the Withdrawal Agreement on three occasions as I believed it was the most pragmatic and straight forward way of leaving the EU in accordance with the 2016 Referendum result.

I remain committed to achieving this as soon as practically possible and I do not support calls for a second referendum.

In the coming weeks I shall do what I can to ensure that Brexit takes place on terms that are in the best interests of the UK and Waveney.
