Waveney MP Peter Aldous has taken up his concerns about the new High School at Pakefield with Suffolk County Council.

Mr Aldous is supportive of the construction of the new school, but is concerned about the safety of children walking or cycling along the A12 from Kessingland and Gisleham.

Aldous is also concerned that not enough attention has yet been given to concerns of local residents such as the identification of sufficient and suitable set down and pick up points and the minimising of disturbance to local home owners.

Commenting, Peter Aldous said:

“Whilst I am in favour of the new school, the safety of local children is of paramount importance and I urge the Council to clarify the situation of the upgrade of the cycle and footpaths to the school.

It is also important to ensure that the design of the school and the construction itself cause as little disturbance as possible to the residents of the surrounding area.”
