Local MP Peter Aldous recently chaired a meeting of North Lowestoft traders at which he agreed to work with them to help attract trade to the area.

The traders at the northern end of London Road North and the High Street feel that this area has been forgotten in recent years and wanted to make Mr Aldous aware of their concerns.

Mr Aldous stated that he believed that the key issues to address were:
  • The need to make the area more accessible with improved parking arrangements.

  • Effort should be made to ensure the area is attractive to customers – making sure it is clean and tidy.

  • The area needs a distinctive sense of place – a North Lowestoft brand.

  • To boost trade the area must be seen to be safe and secure.

Mr Aldous said:

“I was pleased to chair the first meeting of North Lowestoft traders and to listen to the issues facing them in this challenging economic climate. I will be working with the traders in the coming months to see what can be done to help boost trade in the area, especially in the run up to Christmas.”
