Waveney MP Peter Aldous will today visit constituent Marjory Qualters, who has become the 1000th householder to benefit from Eaga’s Clean Energy Programme.

Mrs Qualters is also the 50th Cotman resident to have a free solar PV system under the pioneering programme.

Eaga’s Clean Energy Programme utilises the feed-in-tariff (FIT), which provides an income from electricity generated domestically.

Commenting on her own solar PV system, Mrs Qualters said:

“As my home gets the sun all day I was keen to have a solar panel when Cotman said I was eligible, and I’ll be looking to make as much use of the free energy as possible. The installers were also very efficient, explained everything clearly and left no mess. It was a very simple and quick process.”

Mr Aldous said:

“I was very pleased to visit Mrs Qualters and see first-hand the progress being made in installing solar energy in homes in the Waveney constituency. This is an excellent service and I commend the work being done by green services company Eaga and Cotman Housing Association to provide free solar energy to local residents.”

Working in partnership with social housing providers such as Cotman, which is part of the Places for People group, Eaga is now building on this latest milestone as its steps up the pace of installation in the New Year.
