Sun Safe Schools

MP for Waveney Peter Aldous this week visited Superdrug’s Lowestoft store to hear more about the retailer’s annual summer campaign which aims to educate on skin cancer.

This summer, Superdrug has partnered with UK skin cancer charity, Skcin to support and promote its Sun Safe award schemes, this summer over 1,000 schools and nurseries have signed up to the scheme.

Superdrug’s Superintendent Pharmacist Christine Burbage met with Mr Aldous in the Lowestoft store to discuss the campaign. The discussions explored further ways to encourage school and nursery sign ups in the area ahead of the start of the new academic year.

Peter Aldous MP said:

“I enjoyed my visit to my local Superdrug store in Lowestoft, it was great to hear about the work Superdrug has done with charity partner, Skcin to promote their Sun Safe Schools scheme and the opportunities to communicate and support in my constituency. Sun safety is a growing concern, so it’s important to have a scheme that targets children at a young age to change the shifting attitude towards tanning.”

Christine Burbage said:

“It was great to visit the Lowestoft store, meet Mr Aldous and receive his support for such a worthwhile campaign.”
