Waveney MP Peter Aldous last week officially opened the Sixth Form Centre at Bungay High School.

The Bungay High School Sixth Form Centre on Hillside Road East in Bungay focuses on combining academic challenge, vocational excellence, with personal development and wellbeing to create an enjoyable quality learning environment. Individual support for students and a wide range of subjects open to students are a high priority for the new college.

Aldous commends the aspiration culture that is promoted at Bungay High by aspirations coach Jan Crowley, which involves supporting students and helping them to appreciate all the options available to them to start building a career. The Director of the Sixth Form has pledged the college’s commitment to helping students with University applications and career advice.

Mr Aldous said:
“I am honoured to have been invited to open the Sixth Form College and enjoyed meeting everyone. It is an exciting opportunity for young people in the Waveney area and I congratulate the Sixth Form team for their hard work over previous months. The college will be a great asset to our local community.”

Headteacher, Sean O’Neill commented:
“We pride ourselves in offering high quality teaching and learning opportunities with an equally strong pastoral support programme for all students built around an aspirational culture. Our recent Ofsted inspection found our school to be outstanding.”
