Waveney MP Peter Aldous this week welcomes the Government’s announcement to lower energy bills for hardworking people, families and businesses.

In order to ensure that people are on the lowest possible tariffs for their energy bills, plans have been initiated to force energy suppliers to offer their customers the best deals.

Mr Aldous highlights that people in the Waveney area will stand to benefit from the following proposals:-

  • Households will no longer face hundreds of tariffs, with energy companies limited to four tariffs per fuel.

  • Energy companies will have to make bills simpler for customers to understand, and outline personalised information on the cheapest tariff that they can offer.

  • Households will be moved onto the cheapest tariff under their supplier that suits them.

With over £300 difference between the cheapest and the most expensive tariffs on the market, these initiatives will relieve the financial burden of people in Waveney who are worried about their energy bills.

Commenting Peter Aldous said:

“I am pleased that action has finally been taken to ensure that people can access the lowest tariffs. Households and businesses across Waveney will welcome this move to get their energy bills down at a time when people are struggling to make ends meet.”
