Waveney MP Peter Aldous has this week hosted the winner of his Christmas card competition and her Family for lunch and a tour of the Houses of Parliament as part of her prize for winning last December’s competition.

Mr Aldous previously met Maisie Burr, age 10 from Carlton Colville Primary School at a school presentation last December when he announced the result of the competition, which is open to all primary school children in the Waveney constituency. Mr Aldous uses the winning entry as his personal Christmas card.

A record number of entries were received from schools across the area and Peter was impressed with the wide range of designs entered in the competition. The competition will take place again this year.

Mr Aldous said:
“I was very impressed with the high quality of last year’s submissions to the Waveney Christmas card competition. Pupils across the Waveney constituency showed once again their creativity and hard work. Maisie’s design received extremely complimentary comments from those who received the card and it was good to meet up with her, her parents and sister Lilly earlier this week and to show them around the Houses of Parliament.”
