18th September 2019

My personal views on fracking do not fully align with the Governments and I have taken steps to try to ensure that there is limited environmental impact as a result of fracking. Previously, I signed a letter to the Government supporting the maintenance of the current 0.5 Richter limit and urging the Government to direct the Oil and Gas Authority to retain this limit.

In addition, I am concerned about onshore fracking projects and the loopholes in protections for communities and the environment in the Infrastructure Act 2015.  Most recently I have co-signed a letter to the Prime Minister to ask him to end  support for hydraulic fracturing.

I will continue to monitor this issue closely.
