Since the IPSA review of MP's pay in 2015, Peter has not taken the increase recommended but has, instead, put the equivalent into a Locality Budget to be distributed to charities and good causes in Waveney.
Mr Aldous said at the time:
“Despite the improved economic outlook, a pay rise is not appropriate at a time when public service pay restraint measures remain in place. If the proposals are approved and there is no mechanism for refusing the pay increase, I will set up a Locality Budget, out of which I'd make donations to charitable and other appropriate causes in the constituency.”
Details of the charitable giving distributions can be found here
