Waveney MP Peter Aldous last week visited Waveney Valley Hearing Support Club to meet members and understand the role the club plays in the community.

The Club was formed in l994 by a small group of local people with hearing difficulties ranging from deafened to moderate hearing loss and now has 46 members who come from the towns and villages of Bungay, Harleston, Beccles, Loddon, Halesworth, Darsham and Wenhaston.

The Club champions Deaf Awareness by visiting Banks, Surgeries and all public places to check that Loop Systems are in place and working.

Mr Aldous said:

“It was a great pleasure to be invited to the Club which does excellent work to provide for the needs of those with hearing loss. The club is welcoming new members and I would encourage anyone who feels they would like to find out more to contact Club Secretary, Roger Thomas: roger.thomas@talktalk.net, 01986 896712.”
