Peter Aldous today encouraged young people in the Waveney constituency to attend his Youth Surgery which will take place on 20th November 2010 at 9am-1pm at the Social Room in Beccles Sports Centre.

Mr Aldous will be joined by Member of the Youth Parliament Sam Kenward MYP.

The surgery will be recorded as part of a Youth Media project facilitated by Beth Derks, from Nodoubledutch and by Ryan Holt, chair of the Waveney Youth Council. This project aims to help young people identify the issues important to them and to use a variety of media to have their voices heard. The issues identified by the young people will inform some of the questions to be discussed by Mr Aldous and Mr Kenward at the Surgery.

Mr Aldous said:

“I hope to see as many young people as possible at my first Youth Surgery. This will help me understand the range of issues facing young people in the Waveney area in order that I am best able to represent them in Parliament.”

Sam Kenward said:

“Young people are entitled to a voice and I think this will be a great way to understand and try to develop the voice even more about what issues effect young people in Waveney and How can it be improved for Young People.”
