Waveney MP Peter Aldous today commented on news that the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership has been approved by Business Secretary, Vince Cable and Local Government Secretary, Eric Pickles.
The partnerships joins the 24 approved partnerships that were announced in October at the launch of the Government’s Local Growth White Paper.
Local enterprise partnerships will bring local business and civic leaders together, working to support their local economy. They will operate within a geography that reflects natural economic areas and will provide the vision, knowledge and strategic leadership needed to drive sustainable private sector growth and job creation in their area.
Mr Aldous said:
“I am very pleased that the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership has been approved. The partnership will play a key role in driving local economic growth and creating a strong environment for business in Suffolk and Norfolk and I will be working closely with the Partnership to ensure it helps provide the coordination and momentum needed to realise the great potential the Waveney area has for growth, particularly in the energy sector.”
