Waveney MP Peter Aldous has today written a second letter to Chancellor George Osborne pressing for the introduction of measures to alleviate the cost of fuel.

Aldous initially wrote to the Chancellor on 7th December after receiving a number of letters from constituents concerned about the rise of fuel on individuals and businesses in the Waveney area.

Aldous has also signed EDM 1252 ‘Fuel Price Stabiliser’, tabled by Philip Davies MP.

Mr Aldous said:

“I am urging the Government to put into place a fuel stabiliser to reduce the impact of rising fuel prices on Waveney residents. This is a difficult decision for the Government as such a stabiliser renders tax revenues to the exchequer uncertain. Clearly the Government needs to respond to the fact that the budget deficit has grown massively since the election and it may now be that an alternative measure is more appropriate. These are difficult times, but I will keep pressing the Government to put in place measures to reduce the impact on motorists, businesses and hauliers in Waveney.”
