Blundeston Prison closure

Following on from the meeting that Peter attended at Blundeston Village Hall convened by the Parish Council, he wrote to the Prisons Minister Jeremy Wright on 8th October outlining residents concerns.

Peter has received a response in which the Minister addressed those issues that had been raised including the evaluation process, security, future use of the site, redeployment and how the closure decision was announced.

Peter has offered to arrange a meeting on behalf of Blundeston Parish Council with the Prison Governor and the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) Project specifically discuss site security in more detail.

Peter is due to visit HMP Blundeston again on Monday 4th November to meet up with staff.
