Local MP Peter Aldous showed his support for the tourism industry hosting a dinner at the House of Commons to promote East Anglia tourism to fellow MPs on 15th June.

The event was designed to create a forum for new Conservative MPs from East Anglia, for whom tourism is a key part of their local economy, whether through visitors to the area or as a result of local employers like Hoseasons. The meeting allowed the Hoseasons Group to explain the extent of its range of UK holidays, from Boating to Holiday parks and Cottages, and also provided a chance to discuss potential barriers to growth in domestic tourism – ranging from increasing regulation and ‘red tape’ to forthcoming changes in the planning regime.

The event was attended by local Norfolk and Suffolk MPs Chloe Smith, Therese Coffey and Daniel Poulter.

“It was very kind of Mr Aldous to host a dinner and to give us the opportunity us to talk about key issues in the tourism industry,” said Geoff Cowley, Managing Director of The Hoseasons Group. “ Like all the MPs present he understands the importance of tourism to the local economy, and the opportunity it represents in East Anglia and across the UK. He also suggested some further opportunities which we will be pursuing.”
Peter Aldous said: ”Tourism is a vitally important industry in Suffolk and Norfolk. My colleagues and I found it most helpful to hear from Geoff and his team what they require from Government, so that their business can grow and provide vitally important new jobs.”
