Waveney MP Peter Aldous today encouraged constituents to support the Roman Hill Primary School in Lowestoft which has been shortlisted in a national competition for a playground makeover.

The competition run by Ronseal and Timberline will provide one school with a brand new school playground up to the value of £30,000, which could include equipment like swings, climbing frames, springys plus a brand new Eco Lodge – an eco–friendly and sustainable building to encourage children to learn more about the environment.

The winner, along with five runners up, will also receive a story tellers chair plus special Woodland Trust Copse Packs to help with school environmental projects. Each pack includes 30 native trees including Birch, Rowan and Cherry trees.

The Roman Hill School is the only school finalist from Suffolk and is competing with five other schools from across the country for the prize.

To vote for Roman Hill, Mr Aldous is encouraging constituents to visit the ‘Ronseal UK’ Facebook page and simply "like" the picture of the Roman Hill playground before midnight GMT on 15th July. The most ‘liked’ picture will win the playground make–over. Participants need to "like" Ronseal UK before it is possible to "like" the pictures.
The overall winner will be announced on this website on 18th July 2011.

Mr Aldous said:

“This is a great opportunity for us all to get behind the Roman Hill School in Lowestoft and do all we can to help them win the prize to redevelop the playground there. A new playground for the school would be a real boost to the school and help pupils enjoy their important time outdoors.”
