The launch of new businesslink.gov.uk online services at the start of Global Entrepreneurship Week has been welcomed by Waveney MP Peter Aldous.

Providing a single point of contact for businesses and start-ups seeking high-quality information and support, the website will offer two critical new services that will help entrepreneurs to drive business growth:

  • My New Business, which provides support on how best to set up a new business; and

  • The Growth and Improvement Service, which is designed to be the first place to go for essential information, support and services for businesses new and old.

Mr Aldous said:

“We need to do everything that we can to help entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses – and create jobs for local people here in Waveney. That is why this new business support package is so important. Information is available online and over the telephone, complimented by practical help from thousands of volunteer business mentors with real enterprise experience. I was especially pleased to see the service embracing online innovations such as cloud computing and social media.

This will make a real practical difference to existing business owners and people thinking of starting their own firm in Waveney. Over 500,000 new companies have started since May 2010. We have many great local businesses, and I want to see more of them.”
