Waveney MP Peter Aldous today commented on news that the Government are in talks with the European Court to give prisoners the right to vote.

Mr Aldous said:

“Prisoners lose their right to vote when they break our laws and are convicted. The idea that prisoners could seek compensation if they are unable to vote is ridiculous. But the bigger issues here is that it should be that it is the UK Parliament not the European Court that decides what happens in our country and I will be urging the Government to ensure this is the case.”
