Waveney MP Peter Aldous has today continued his correspondence with Waveney District Council expressing concern about the future of the Tramway Hotel.
Mr Aldous was following up on his letter to planners at Waveney District Council expressing concerns about Tesco’s proposed conversion of the property to a Tesco Express.
Peter has questioned the local planning authority’s use of the Valuation Office listing of the premises to establish its current use and is seeking clarification as to whether they have inspected the property to establish whether it is currently a hotel. If it is then a change of use planning application will be required that will enable the concerns expressed by local community to be fully considered.
Aldous commented: “There are understandable concerns locally about this proposal, which could well have a significant impact on the area and it is vital that these are fully considered with local people having the opportunity to have their say.”
