Peter Aldous MP came to visit the Water Lilies Swimming School in Bungay on Monday afternoon - 28th July at 4.30pm at Oaklands Leisure Pool, Flixton Rd. He watched first hand the various lessons running at that time on a Monday during term time. The children are working towards their STA Octopus, Goldfish and Angelfish badges - a series designed for those children who start to learn to swim at primary school, the rising 5's to 8 year olds.  Members of the Development Squad were also in training on Monday. Children coming to Squad lessons are working towards their advanced swimmer and water safety badges, and learning about elements of competitive swimming such as competitive starts and turns, use of pace clock and time trials.

"I very much enjoyed my visit to Water Lillies Swimming School to see at first-hand their successful and enjoyable award winning swimming lessons. Living close to both the sea and the Broads there are great opportunities to have fun whilst exercising, but to do so safely it is so important to learn to swim at an early age."

Water  Lilies Swimming School is an independently run swimming school, started by award-winning Teresa Griffin in 2007. In 2014, Water Lilies Swimming School now teaches more than 1,000 children, babies and adults per week across Norfolk & Suffolk in private pools (Bungay, Holton, Burgh St Peter, Harleston, Pulham Market, Redlingfield and Shelfanger). We also run training and CPD courses for swimming teachers too.

Water  Lilies Swimming School offers a very personal and friendly teaching service to small groups of children across Norfolk and Suffolk . Our lessons cater for:
- Babies (from 6 weeks) & Toddlers
- Under 5's
- School age children
- Child and Adult private tuition

We also run adult swimming sessions including: Swim Active, Learn to Swim, Improver, Ladies Only and Aquarobics.

Although its the last week of term at our swimming school this week - many children are continuing their swimming activities with our great summer swimming programme! During the school holidays our programme is packed full of fun extras such as: Diving for Beginners; Swim Clinic; and the popular intensive sessions. Our highly qualified (STA / ASA) instructors lead fun and motivating sessions.

Water safety is an essential skill and we are keen to spread the word about water safety where possible, especially at the start of the summer holidays! Our blog post this week provides some essential reminders of how to stay water safe this summer - click BLOG on the homepage or click this link

"All children swimming with Water Lilies Swimming School are part way to being safe in the water as they are learning to swim and being taught water safety as part of their lessons. At WLSS we follow the STA's Learn to Swim programe. However they need your help [parents/carers] too - to teach them the importance of water safety."
